This is a very joyful and somewhat athletic dance that originated in Colombia and then spread throughout Latin America and is particularly popular today in Mexico. Cumbia, as taught by Candace Dance, expresses the joy of being alive with lots of movements and turns in a modern lyrical style largely based on contemporary Mexican Cumbia.
